I LOVE sunflowers. I love them so much that I've almost stopped several times at a house that is on my way home that has some beautiful sunflowers in the backyard. But since I'm too shy to do that, I picked up this beauty at our local farmer's market last night. And I spent at least a good hour taking all kinds of pictures of it, which was nice since it's 100 degrees outside. You never know, there may even be more - it is a beautiful flower.

Rocky Mountain High
We finally got to visit my Dad in his new Colorado home this last weekend. It was breathtaking! The sky is bluer...the clouds are whiter...the sun is brighter. Maybe it's because we're a few thousand feet closer to the sky than we are at home. We did a little four-wheeling and off-roading, kayaking, and attended our first mountain party. I was sad to leave, but am looking forward to my next visit over Labor Day!

Old Book
I took a ridiculous number of pictures of this old copy of Gone with the Wind (which I have, in fact, read...several times.) For some reason, this one was my favorite. Perhaps it's the roughened edges, or the pages colored with time...or maybe it's the librarian in me, happy to see an old book still loved.

Peeking Sebastian
I was too lazy to go anywhere with my camera, so I stayed at home and photographed my favorite subjects (the dogs) in my own backyard. This photo represents Sebastian...he is always looking out, watching for people on the sidewalk...in the street...across the street... He is intent on protecting his territory!
